MARLOWE was born in Brooklyn to an artistic mother who then migrated south to Florida. From there, it became an odyssey trek around the country with stops in New Orleans, Houston, and Philadelphia." Seeing these different cultures, textures, and flavors from everywhere influenced my art choices...bold, unpredictable colors with quirky angles and perspectives."

A unique aspect of Marlowe’s work is the layering technique. The base art is the background on layer 1. Then the middle images make up level 2. The final image is level 3, which is the most prominent graphic of the entire artwork. They all nest on top of each other, which creates a soft ambient shadow when light hits the canvas.

The 1970s saw Marlowe graduating from Ohio University with a BFA and heading to Manhattan to make his mark in Graphic Design. "Amazingly, my first assignment was to design record album covers for Hall & Oates. From there, it was on to book jacket design, typeface creation, and packaging. "My early graphic technique was the creative seed for my fine art career years later, a visual look, not for the faint of heart."

Marlowe resides in North Carolina, creating bold work for private collections and corporations.
